Martin Surl

Gloucestershire’s Police and Crime Commissioner 2012 -21
Standing for re-election with the Liberal Democrats on the 2nd May 2024

Published and Promoted by Fergus Ustianowski on behalf of Martin Surl, at Liberal Democrat, 16 Hewlett Road, Cheltenham GL52 6AA

“Every Crime Matters…
Because Every Victim Matters!”

Every crime must matter but due to austerity  – its hasn’t. I have shown I am independently minded and am passionate about our county and that is why I am standing again to  be PCC offering hope, a vision and investing in our frontline and our communities to keep Gloucestershire safe.

With over 35 years of policing experience from being a Gloucestershire bobby on the beat to investigating serious crimes and locking away criminals to my 8 and a half years as the county’s first Police and Crime Commissioner I have shown my passion for our county.

The last decade has been tough for the policing with budgets and officers and staff cut right to the bone. But during my time in office, we we’re always praised for financial stability that has in the last few years been put at risk.

Under my watch I pledge to make sure our police concentrate on the primary focus keeping us safe – by making sure every crime matter because every victim matters.

Make leftover jabs a priority protocol

I was delighted to see Gloucestershire ahead of the rest for its vaccine roll out, which calls for an unequivocal big thank you to all the surgeries, vaccine centres, volunteers, firefighters and many others who made it possible.  But could we do even better?
